elibraX services are provided by Stratum Limitada, registration number 3-200-165880, registered address: Costa Rica, San José, Mata Redonda, Sabana Oeste, twelfth avenue, ninetieth street. Depending on the service, it may act as an independent controller or together with its partners as a joint controller of your data.
To let you use the full range of our services, we ask you to complete an identity verification.
To carry out this verification, we work with a specialised identity verification provider, which acts as a processor of your data as defined in the GDPR and processes it only on our instructions.
We ask you to complete a liveness check, which shows that you are a real person and that the identity document you present belongs to you. We process your personal data to verify your identity and to stop anyone from opening several accounts fraudulently, as part of the customer due diligence we must carry out under the applicable anti-money laundering (AML) laws.
For this, we need to process your biometric data, namely your facial features. When we ask you to move your face in front of the camera, a biometric template is created and compared with the photo in your identity document. The template is deleted straight away when the verification ends.
You acknowledge and agree that your biometric data will be processed through automated reading, checks of authenticity and other automated processing. This includes processing a scan of your face during the liveness check, a video selfie or a video identification, biometric authorisation, comparing your face with the photo in your identity document, searching for the same person behind several identities, and running and improving fraud controls that detect and prevent fraud and crime.
You also acknowledge and agree that your personal data will be processed through automated reading, checks of authenticity and other automated processing of photos and scans of your documents, and checked against several databases, including international lists of politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions lists, country specific sanctions lists, criminal lists and financial lists.
Your personal data is processed only on secure servers used by us and our identity verification provider, in line with our Privacy Notice.
Once you have consented to the collection and processing of your biometric data for verification, the processing continues for as long as it is needed to complete the verification.
Your consent stays valid until the verification is completed.
Please note that if you do not consent to the collection and processing of your biometric data, we may not be able to verify your identity to the level needed to give you access to all elibraX services.
You also acknowledge and agree that accepting this document electronically has the same force and effect as signing it in ink, and that by ticking the box "Agree to the personal data processing", pressing "Agree" or taking a similar action, you give Stratum Limitada your informed written consent to the collection, use, retention and deletion of your biometric data, such as your facial features, as described above, and to sharing this data with our identity verification provider.
